Design and Commercialization of Gold Nanoparticle-based Immunochromatographic Digital Multi-color Strips to Detect Mycotoxins in Food Samples

NanoLab

Mycotoxins in food products are the secondary metabolic products of fungi. They are poisonous, carcinogens and mutagens and pose a serious health threat to both humans and animals. The rapid, simple and cheap detection methods of mycotoxins are highly desirable. The currently proposed solution, contains an immunochromatographic strip test, a smartphone application and a data analysis system to detect and quantify mycotoxins in fungal contaminants. The outcomes of this project will help to protect people’s health by providing a rapid, and real-time analysis of food samples.
